Kellsey is a compassionate and skilled occupational therapist with extensive experience supporting individuals across different life stages. Graduating from the Master of Occupational Therapy program at the University of Manitoba in 2008, she began her career helping adults with spinal cord injuries and amputations regain independence at the Health Sciences Centre.

How does Occupational Therapy help with mental health?

Occupational therapy extends its benefits to individuals struggling with mental health issues. Occupational therapists work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, or other mental health conditions to develop coping strategies, manage stress, and improve overall well-being. They incorporate therapeutic activities into their sessions, such as sensory-based strategies, mindfulness exercises, and stress management techniques, to promote emotional regulation and enhance quality of life.
