Got tender, juicy turkey leftovers? Try this amazing four-ingredient BBQ Cheddar Turkey Quesadilla recipe! Not only are quesadillas simple and fast, but the barbecue sauce pairs beautifully with the delicious melted cheese and tender turkey.

I am always thinking of ways I can cook once and eat twice. These turkey quesadillas also make for a great packed lunch. My kids love them in their lunch boxes. Just reduce the amount of bbq sauce so that the quesadilla doesn’t get soggy.

BBQ Cheddar Turkey Quesadillas

4 ingredient BBQ cheddar turkey quesadillas are an easy and delicious dinner option. The first step is to warm up a nonstick frying pan on medium heat. In a small bowl, mix together chopped turkey meat and bbq sauce. Then, build the quesadillas by laying grated cheese on the bottom of one half of the tortilla. Arrange the turkey on top of the cheese on the same side of the tortilla and fold over the other half. Place the folded tortilla into the frying pan and cook for 2-3 minutes. When the tortilla is golden on the first side, carefully flip the quesadilla to the other side and continue cooking until the second side is golden. Serve and enjoy!

Description

Try this quick and easy recipe to reinvent turkey leftovers. Have fun with your turkey leftovers and try to make a variety of versions with different flavour barbeque sauces.  


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large whole grain tortilla shell
  • 1 cup cooked turkey meat (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese (grated)
  • 2 tbsp bbq sauce

Instructions

  1. Warm up a nonstick frying pan on medium heat.
  2. In a small bowl, add chopped turkey meat and bbq sauce. Mix until combined. 
  3. Build the quesadillas by laying grated cheese on the bottom of one half of the tortilla. Then arrange the turkey on top of the cheese on the same side of the tortilla. Fold over the other half. 
  4. Place the folded tortilla into the frying pan. Cook for 2-3 mins. When the tortilla is golden on the first side, carefully flip the quesadilla to the other side,
  5. Continue cooking until the second side is golden. 
  6. Serve. 

Notes

Optional: Top with green onions

  • Add some heat by adding a splash of hot sauce.
  • Chop up some peppers or red onion
